Grieve Estate Wines

The winery’s flagship Estate Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot are crafted entirely from fruit grown at the winery’s organically farmed estate vineyard in Napa’s remote Lovall Valley. Special clonal selections combined with the site’s unique bowl-shaped topography, gravelly-loam soils and fog-cooled micro-climate produce distinctly rich and character driven wines. The estate wines are vinified separately by lot to amplify site signatures and treated to extended aging in French oak barrels for complexity and ageability.

2018 Grieve Family Estate Merlot

Napa Valley

Releasing in 2023

The Grieve family is pleased to announce the 2023 release of their highly anticipated 2018 Grieve Family Estate Merlot. Produced from the small 4.5 acre block planted to the estate vineyard, Grieve Family Merlot exemplifies the suppleness and vibrant fruit expression of this classic Bordeaux varietal when treated to the ideal growing conditions. The distinctly cooler daytime temperatures, layered volcanic soils and elevated exposure of the winery’s Lovall Valley estate vineyard allows the Merlot to ripen slowly and evenly, maximizing the exquisite balance of flavor, richness and tension. At only 100 cases, the 2018 Grieve Family Estate Merlot will be made available exclusively to mailing list customers in 2023.

Olive Oil

Each year, Grieve Family Winery harvests and produces a small amount of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from their organically farmed estate olive trees. These stately trees border the vineyard and thrive in the same cool climate conditions that define the estate terroir. In late fall, family and friends gather to hand harvest the estate olive grove and deliver the fruit to a local artisan olive mill for cold pressing, racking and bottling. Fresh and heart-healthy, the resulting olive oil displays the same harmonious balance as Grieve Family wines, offering rich flavor nuanced by delicate herbaceous notes. This is an extremely small production offered exclusively through the winery and website.
